C0117D – Red Brick SoffitReplacement

You must register as a plan holder for this Project in order to ensure you receive all information and updates related to the Bidding Process.

REGISTER AS A PLAN HOLDER

The purpose of this project is to replace the existing soffit with new soffit panels. This project will be limited to replacing the existing soffit with new panels of a similar design, replacing any rotted or damamged wood, and paint. An alternate bid is also requested to wrap the fasciae on the “ends” of the building with aluminum.
 
This project will be subject to current Madison County Prevailing Wage Rates.

Had a thought that it might be cheaper (haven't ran numbers) to take out existing soffit and put an f channel on the wall and j channel on the fascia and run a solid soffit. Also this would eliminate all painting except the gable ends. Thoughts? Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, this method had been considered as part of the C0117A project and was determined not to be cost effective. This was mainly due to the utilities attached to the rear of the building. The electrical conduit is tucked against the existing soffit, and all of it would have to be adjusted to attach the f channel.
